OK well, the guy i climb for 3 days a week, took on another climber at the end of the week, we reckon he has started nicking kit (long story) and he is basically full of bull, he is 20 and says he has an n-d in arb but we don't no if he is telling the truth, instead of asking for a certificate, is there such a website were i/my boss can type his name in to find out if he has an n-d, like the nhs my girlfriend is a dental nurse and you can find out were she lives and everything on a certain website. many thanks

City and guilds i presume are the ones who give out the qualification they do on most other courses. Doubt there website will give much away so maybe worth phoneing up make sure you get his full proper name etc. Sounds like a bloke who used to work for us said he came out forces etc one of the first days he worked for us he put an 020 across his hand on the ground needless to say he soon went and started subbing into alot of firms around us. Might even be same bloke?

I doubt you will find any organisation willing to provide you with details over the phone, as they will all be bound by the 1998 Data Protection Act.

Could you not just ask the chap to produce all the relevant documents to prove his bona fides, and set a deadline on him to do so, which failure to adhere too will mean the forfeiture of his position.

It will then be upto him to put up or shut up and walk away.
