yes thats right boys scotch pine. shown to me out of old dictionary by my old uncle who always referred to them as such .he is very well read and i didnt like to pick him up on this point but thought i must, i had never heard of it has anyone else by the way this is not an american dictionary.

over here we spell it scots pine but pronounce it scotch pine, must be an ulster scots thing. my english girlfriend has been living over here for four years and still cant understand what most people say

Have never heard it called Scotch Pine up here myself, but we do call them "Callies" as in Caledonian - not sure if that's just a colloquialism though....
