The 35c14 is thirsty, but pulls fully loaded with a chipper, really well.

I f you don't do high mileage, it's really good, and you get this big grin all the time, from feeling like your driving a real truck.

Mate of mine just said the new transits are really bad if you load them, whereas the Iveco will just do it!

Payload is the usual crap, I'm thinking about getting up rated springs (9 leaf, ooo-err). Doesn't stop overloading though.

I have been contemplating a 3.5t tipper recently, from what i understand the iveco 3.0l usually has a payload of about 1.5t but you still then have to deduct a body and tools etc leaving you with something around the 1.25t mark. The couple I have driven all seem to pull like trains and haven't heard of any major faults.

yep pull like trains.only ever need first gear when fully loaded with chipper.otherwise use 2nd all the time.full load is just over a tonne. have to be carefull when you are fully loaded.one of ours had gone in to fitters which had a good load on it.when it was tipped off the ram marked the prop shaft.

There are issues where you cannot get any service manuals for the iveco, so they have you by the short and curlies, but any decent mechanic should be able to sort any problems.

Our local van dealer/mechanic said that the old smiley (Mk5) transits were the last ones to be able to take the abuse a tree surgeon would throw at it.

And I brought the Iveco, had it sign written, and even the missus says I look like a professional outfit, now! Also had loads of new enquiries.
