any brand would like to know when reps/ stores/ dealers etc are or are not up to scratch,,

I don't see any problem with it at all...

in my previous job i would regularly get told of stores doing a good or bad job,,, it balances out,, reward the good ones,, sort out the crap ones...

they do represent the brand,,the brand has a right to know, and to deal with it..

don't see what your problem is mick..

he might have gotten sent the hat to say thankyou for telling us about the great service...

don't think it was stitching up at all,,, the brand wont go in guns blazing,,, they'll just "secret shop" them once or twice to see how the service is for themselves,, then make up their own minds...

Yeah of course you're right ad, happened to me when I worked in a cycle shop. The owner sent in one of his friends to see how I re-acted to a situation. I left under my own steam shortly afterwards when I found out what had been set up behind my back.... Never could stand sneaky people.

Don't all major retailers do "secret shops"?

retailers, brands, manufacturers it's as common a practice as you going to the toilet...

it's not sneaky mick,,, it's just making sure that you're brand/ store is being represented as you want,

it's no different to subbing a job out to someone to do a job for a customer you know,,, then asking that customer how the guy was...

Weird thread!!!Perhaps the first dealer was having a bad day or something but you saw fit to report him to Stihl and then show off your ill gotten gains:thumbdown:

Sorry you think it sounds like that. He wasn’t having a bad day, it’s not the first time I have had a bad experience in that shop and I know several others that won’t go in there unless they have to.

I complained about the poor service in one dealer and praised the other who was as knowledgeable as he was helpful.

Ill gotten? Well if you think so.

Andy
