Hi,

Don’t mean to butt in but how do you go about a spore test for Fungi ID? (Sending of samples or hand lens etc?) Any info would be great.

Good to see a bit of healthy discussion.

Cheers Steve

With spore test, I'm suggesting looking at colour of the spores, using a piece of paper etc......

I guess it may be possible to do a field study with a portable microscope.

Having said this, I haven't tried it myself ......................yet

If you want to check the colour of fungus spores you have to leave the fruiting body on a piece of white paper or on clear plastic over night.

If you want an identification on fungus then I think that the Tree Help still carryout this service:confused1:

Tree Help.info

I have been known to go fungus picking the spore test can be very useful in avoiding death:lol:
