Was anyone taught to inspect and maintain there basic kit whilst doing there training towards there NPTC tickets?

 

Yes. It was a long time ago for me but we were taught the principles and how to do it at myerscough. They had samples of things that failed.

 

Any good reading you could recommend on the subject to help me prepare for the test pete?

Nice one.. you'll get a discount cos I wouldn't have to travel too far! Any idea of how many inspectors there are near us? Wouldn't want to tread on people's toes too much.
