Does anyone know where I can do this in the North West?

'NPTC Thorough Examination of Arboricultural Equipment'

Does this course qualify a person to inspect equipment and pass another persons gear?

Cost, duration, is it worthwhile?

Any advice appreciated

What are the criteria for loler inspections.

Ie: What says you have tocarry them out.

I would take it that a sole trader who does his own climbing can be responsible for his own checks, but if you employ someone who climbs for you then you would have to pass the responsiblity of checking his harness to a qualified person.

..Or would that employed person, if a contractor be responsible for his own checking

I have never had a loler inspection, I inspect my kit regularly and renew most of it after two years use, especailly harness and crabs.
