Hi all, I am studying Arboriculture at a college and am looking to buy a Harness for the first time. I am currently looking at the Austrian Duo 3 and the Petzl Sequoia SRT.

Would it be possible if any of you could give me some professional advice on buying harness's and also which ones are worth looking at, much appreciated.

I've also got a Skylotec but find the posher Petzel harnesses pretty comfortable as well along with the Tree Austria 2. Try as may as you can and have a good sit and play around in them - find a good supplier.

Try before u buy The worst thing is to buy a harness then you not liking it Try as many as u can as u will be whereing it for long hrs so u wont it to fit nice and tight and to be a nice snuggy fit

I have the skylotec and love it most people have the skylotec but ever one has the choice

can. worms. open.

there is no 'best' harness. each person will recommend a harness to you, as a newbie, try as many as you can, get to the climbing gettogethers and get down the the arb show on friday/saturday! Then you can see harnesses in use, there are different styles some which mamke you feel comfy some which feel like a g string and others which you may not like for any reason. Anybody is like that though!

I bought a petzl sequioa, its a nice lightweight harness, and i find it does everything i need, it has leg loops instead of a seat which i prefer. Although i tried it on oce, i never got to hang in it, which is why i bought it, i trained ina komet butterfly but i found it to be a bit too bulky for my liking.
