Problem with 1x37

I have been processing firewood today with my 1X37 Hakki Pilke. Sometimes the bar will cut straight through the log and other times its just like its hit a nail about 2 inches down and will not go through at all. The chain is really sharp (sharp enough to stall the saw with too much pressure) and the bar is gun barrell straight and the oiler is working fine (about 5 litres in 7 hours). Please can anyone come up with any suggestions as to what the problem might be coz I am just about ready to to lose it with he machine. It is happening on both fresh felled beech and is worst on 14 month old straight ash.

HELP

Chances are either

Cutters are sharper on one side than the other

Cutters are shorter on one side than the other

Rakers are lower on one side than the other

the chain is trying to cut like a banana but the machine wont let it.

mate there is another thread on this with all the answers,

a fair guess is its the chain, try a new one

when ordering the bar, make sure you give the serial number as it is an arse when the wrong one only just fits....happened to me

check the wear around the sproket on bar, that will put chain on angle

i only use my chains half way, then change them cos that keeps happening to me........ i put the chain on the saw then and use it all the way down

thanks firewoodman, I managed to find it after about an hours searching. I have now contacted Larges by email and will hopefully get a new sprocket, bar and chain ordered this week. Is that where you get yours from?

bought the machine from them, but as for chain and bar........

i by a reel of chain and make my own as i only use half on machine then put it on saw so need to cut and re-link it,

bar..... i keep serial number of original bar and get local machinery guys to order it in

a sensible man would order 2 and keep a spare (obvously i'm not sensible)

Thanks for all your help everyone. Have fitted new bar chain and sprocket today and the machine is as good as the day it was new. Have been going mad today with logs. Only another 75 tonne to do now, mainly last years wood but shouldn't take too long now.
