cheers carl and Had.

is it because the rope is old and worn that i am having trouble extracting the core? it looked so easy on the vid on the donaghy's site (checked it out last night).

which tool do you use...?

I nipped to homebase and bought a bradal, should i blunt it off a bit?

Thanking you once again.

If its an old rope it will be a bit more work especially when you get to the crossover. New ropes are much easier.

At the point where you extract the core manipulate and bend it around a bit to loosen it up a tad. Once you gt a couple of strands out it will become easier(dont try and pull all the core out in one).

I use a couple of different awls depending what rope im doing. If yours is really pointy then deffinatly round it off a bit! If its sharp it will catch random strands quite alot.

Hey Carl-no thats not the new taper but i did try it out the other day on some tachyon and it worked a treat:thumbup1:
