Also look up bigwall ledges/tents. Guys use them to bolt big climb walls or to ascend huge sheer rock faces... Way cool.

so I haven't looked for the bigwall ledges I just described, but I know Mammoth Mountain store in Bellevue, WA has em. They're way cool. I'd just feel a little funny about setting up a sleeping bag on one and trusting my life to it. a little breeze and you're earthbound.

ON the otherhand, the NEWTRIBE Treeboats look pretty awesome! The company is built for pro & Rec climbers, so their stuff is pretty comfy...

Two tarps, one for the hammock and one for the 'roof' and a length of rope. Fold the hammock tarp into a diamond shape and tie a big overhand knot at each of the ends of the longer points. Whip the line round one knot, then around a tree at head height. Take the line horizontally to the other stem, fix and attach to the other end of the hammock. Throw roof tarp over line and peg out. Tenner from B&Q :)

The hennasy hammock is good that's mine two wks in the jungle but not much good up a tree as you get into it from underneath if you dont want to get eaten alive so your harness n line wouldn't be ideally set up.

Tree boats are the ones I think

You can get the HH with a full length side zip.

Hennessy- the new ones come with a top opening- I've got the old Hennessy and its the best sleep near the ground possible. I haven't sleep at height in mine but other friends have. Super lightweight and super awesome

Tree boat- really good for sleeping at height but not as comfy as Hennessy, I had a week in mine and my back def felt it. A bit bulky to carry ESP with the rain awning.

Portaledge- the ultimate for sleeping at height. Bulky as **** too carry but can fit 2 people do load can be shared. Super stable and secure, really easy to make coffee n breakfast without leaving the ledge.

Personally I would forget the tree boat- and have a Hennessy for nr ground missions in the bush and have a portaledge for big missions in the canopy.

The tensile will we using inafrica is a whole

Different matter completely

Hope that helps
