Bounus Scheme

I have yet to come across any bonus scheme that does anything other than cause upset or resentment.

Either the staff end up hating the management (who are, for instance 'costing' them their bonus) or they end up hating each other (for instance, "they did a load of easy jobs and got a great big bonus, whilst we grafted on this monster and got nowt" type of thing)

If anyone has a working scheme I would be interested (a scheme that works, across the board, that is).

One option IMO maybe to treat team leaders like gods, so they in turn drive those below them. An alternative it to employ teams of sub-contractors.

If they dont break anything, i get a bonus. If they dont get a telling off, they get a bonus!!!!

As has been said, bonus schemes will cause non needed tension between those that gain from it and those that dont. By keeping moral high by being a good boss/company should motivate the workers/employees to succeed for you.

i work for a large arb company.we are set a min day rate we must earn before a bonus is shared out.if we earn over our money for the week the money left over is split as follows.65% goes to the company,10% to the manager and the rest split between the lads with the first £25 going to the foreman!!complicated eh?:confused1:

I think when big jobs go well get done quickly an afternoon off is a nice little bonus plus encentive for more productive work plus a nice cash bonus at christmas time never goes a miss

Well, thats a lovely thought but, the faster we work, the more "odd jobs" we get, incentive?

i still try, but i am losing the will!

I like the pricework situation, its all down to you then, and crews cant argue, if they want day rate then they cant bitch when a crew takes home twice as much, or goes home twice as early!

that system does have a downside, pushes down quality and "proscedure"

unfortunately the main problem with chasing the bonus is that accidents and damage are more likely to occur.even without a bonus scheme an underpriced job can lead to increased pressure to complete that job as quickly as possible, and inevitably shortcuts might be taken in that pursuit.

and it,s all down to how the boss prices the job

for me the bonus is they get to keep a job

and if you think boys done good either get em a treat or occasionally bung em a tip
