Perhaps you need to do a once-in-a-lifetime thing. Walk to a Pole, sail round a continent or just do something out of the ordinary.

To give you an idea of the kind of thing I mean... I'm an unimaginative git who'll probably never get round to doing anything dangerous but there's a 500 mile walk down the west coast of North Island New Zealand. I would just love for three guys to do that in, say, three weeks. Not SAS stuff but at 50 years old (now) I could do it and count it as a huge achievement.

Would that help?

I think what I need is to become prime minister :laugh1:

Have you ever seen Hitchhikers guide to the galaxy? The old old series not the film.

Apparently what your feeling is universal paranoia :thumbup1:

We all think we are destined for something big and better.

What has space, the stars and the galaxy got to do with things :001_rolleyes:

Personally I think you are realising that there is more to life than what you used to think and your purpose could be like all of us to realise our true selves i.e. we all come from the same place really. And that this will have huge implications (but within yourself).

i think Rob has nailed it, makes sense to me:thumbup:

Mid life crisis rising again?

Like others have said - you've done and achieved massive amounts. You're just looking for the big one now - perhaps you've already acheived more than you realise.

Still, ambition is an excellent motivation feeling and one worth holding onto forever.

Haha, going to open myself wide open here but here goes.

All my life I have had a feeling that I have to acheive something big. It's really hard to explain.

Almost as though I have been put on this earth for a reason, it sometimes does my head in and is very frustrating.

Is it like dreams and is supposed to mean something or do I just need putting in a straight jacket and have some electric shock treatment. :laugh1:

Nope, perfectly normal, we all want to achieve something with our lives, and the less we have left the more urgent it becomes!

as for a shrink, 99% of folk could do worse than pay a visit, its VERY eye opening and best days work I ever did!

still a fruit and nutcase though!

I've not read any of htis thread except Deans first post........

We all think like that.

A psychologist would help you to reaslise that you have already achieved something big in your life. Job done!!

So change the perspective on what you HAVE done and let go of the possible perspective of what has not yet happened.

That can be done, without losing ambition, ambition is still important. But knowing when you have succeeded is very important too.

Good :thumbup1:

So I'm not looney then, my next big ambition is to win the euromillions :001_smile:

That would be an acheivement
