Yeah. I lit a match head at the same distance with my old muzzle loader last week. Forgot to video it though :D

 

Seriously? one hell of a shot. Wonder what caliber - must have been close to a .50 for that kind of range...

 

The video says .338, or 8.59mm. Not on in my opinion! If you want to test yourself shoot on a range at targets! Live animals should be culled humanly and at those distances there is more than a high chance of wounding the beast.

 

Military snipers are a different matter and sometimes shoot at very long ranges.

I agree with deerman shooting deer etc is irresponable at this range no chance for follow up just ammo for antis military snipers are there to confuse demoralise and disrupt and the intention is to wound not kill. the plains of canada africa etc may call for long shots but even the best rifle is not acurate enough to give first shot kill at that range
