The idea is for a belt and braces approach to disputed trees though, so the LITE would add, not replace, to our arsenal!

Seriously..I understand the results are so open to interpretation..esp where the focus is the root system a to be useless..I would contest that only anLPA could consider investing in the thing...otherwise it will be a one off cost borne by tree owners with a concience and a fat wallet....????

I know the bore holes are tiny but do you seal them with silicone sealant to prevent any further ingress of pathogen

 

the method on the street is to not block up the bore holes, you need to allow air to circulate - if you block the hole and you have transfered pathogens from a previous tree... well need i say more.

I know very little about this and may be way of,but my understanding was that as the hole is so small that the compression in the wood closes the hole.

very possible, for the record I clean my drill bit before and after every test..

I don't see how you could use it on the root system? So I don't think it would ever come to that.

It appears to have undergone some additional developments both in method and in software capabilities in the recent past. ( PICUS)

I was speaking to Phil Wade from Sorbus at the Woburn Tree Root seminar yesterday, and would like to have a look at the Lite on Friday at Capel.

A demo may be arranged if there is enough interest.
