Hi guys.. and gals,

got a little project going and was wondering what you all thought of airspades, are they a great tool or not so much?

The possablilities for tree health improvment via soil remediation, decay investigation, girdling roots, and a hundred other purposes are obvious to me, but i need to do some market research and want your opinions:thumbup:

Also if you know of any information, links to good sources, use pictures particulary work on tree health cases examples etc please add them here as this would help me greatly:thumbup:

does anyone know of Dr Olaf in america, the pathologist, and has links to docs and info by him? also work by Dr lee Klinger of america.

thanks for any help:thumbup1:

I am pretty sure Andrew Cowan (Arbourecology) is going to be doing some air spade demos and a lecture at this years AA Arb Show 11th 12th June. I understand he is trying to get together a training program for anyone thinking about starting root care and management as misuse of the air spade can be just as damaging as topping out a tree. I hear there are also going to be a couple of articles in the next AA newsletter in relation to this. Hope this helps

I’ll watch this thread with interest - I have a friend who’s a civil engineer and he and I were both thinking of going in together and offering the Air Spade as a service as it would both benefit him and myself.

Good thread! :thumbup1:

Does the job, used it on a few projects and had success. Investgatory works and radial trenching, also a handy tool when working near cables and sevices for those who excavate now and again...
