These pictures and experiences that Sohner is sharing are pictures from the actual company which started commercial tree work in California.

 

How lucky are we to have this privilege?

 

We are lucky to have this person share these photos and be able to put forth a verbal history for us.

 

I hear historians talk about how they wish they had better information about different segments of history which has changed our society.

Aerial lift trucks were crude in the early days. The truck was so heavy that it didn't have outriggers. Gas mileage was not so good either!

These rigs were used for line clearance in the forties and fifties. We owned them right up until the eighties. Got a little expensive to operate after a while. A bit heavy on the road tax.

Yes it was a Monterey Cypress hedge. The lines that the operator is working close to are phone lines. The picture was taken across the street from where we lived and the picture was just a demonstration photo.

I'm working on the photos from the 60's and 70's but with little luck at this time. My brother may have the collection from that era. I'll ask him when I see him next. Could be a while don't see him much.
