Right lads, We are in need of a some larger transport, there are 6 of us in our house and only a Peugeot 306 to get us about, which is a big problem or should i say a small problem.

So what does the Arb think ?

Disco TD5

VW Transporter 6 seat conversion

or

Nissan Primastar 6 seat conversion

I've hummed and arghed for weeks over this now, can't decide whats best thing to do.

The vans can be used as a 2nd work van if needs be and we will get tax breaks etc if i'm right ?

But the disco's look the part, but I probably won't get any tax breaks with one ?

Who has what ?

I would cross the Disco off at £4k, most likely just buy a heap of problems at that price.

Was hoping somebody would put me off a Disco:001_smile:

They aren't any where near as practical I'm guessing, at least with a van conversion we can still get stuff in the back, and used it for work.

I'm soon to be in the same situation even more of an issue if you have a dog in the back. We currently have a Honda FR-V which is freat seats 6 in two rows. So can fit although tight. It is only small for a 6 seater.

Mazda Bongo, same engine as the ranger, good camper..

We run a disco td5 at the mo, 6 to move around + 2 dogs they fit in just , it's good if my works veh breaks down then if i am allowed i can use it . if we all go out and about we take a small trailer for the accsses gear . would love a vw but the price of a good one is still very high. also the disco engine and running gear is compataple with the works 130 so bits can be bought for one and you know what i meen

4k isnt going to get you anything very good imo, i would save up a bit more and get something newer and hopefully not as many problems, the mazda bongos, delicias etc are very cheap but the fuel economy on a 3 speed auto is shocking, and they are like sitting in a tank. i picked up a nice lwb patrol last month, 7 seats, mint condition with only 106k on the clock. i would look out for something similar mate for a few more grand.
