hi bizarre thing happened today,,went to see a client, today who is local land owner, his land runs parrellell to a dodgy bit of road,,,and we have to dead oaks to come down over it,,,,I was running through our options with him,,,road traffic management etc,,,,,when I spotted a large chestnut further down the lane with a nice lean on it,,,,,,towards a busy junction,,,,(country lane junction) I went over to investigate and found the whole tree had a cavity big enough to stand in,,,,,I mentioned to the client that I was amazed it hadnt fallen over yet,,and with a bit of luck it would blow over and save us doing a dangerous tree,,,,he laughed,,we decided to inform council of how bad it was,,etc,,,,anyway went off to take out a prunus,,,,hour later got a call from him to say tree had fallen over in wind,,and blocked the whole rd,,,,SPOOKY,,, glad I hadnt climbed it!!!!!! time to buy lottery ticket,,me thinks.:001_tongue:

I had a spooky experience in some woodland about 4 years ago

I was strimming bramble for a couple of hours in a woodland when I heard a bang.

I stopped strimming and listened.......nothing

I started again and heard another crack ! .....

I stopped the strimmer engine and took off my earmuffs and listened thinking someone may have been shooting.

5 seconds later a 70ft Oak silently started to fall over straight towards me and I had to run sideways out of it's way.

Had I not heard the two cracks I would have been dead
