i got told a few months by a stihl man . When using older machinery you should add more 2 stroke oil to fuel to prolong engine wear . Is this true if so when should you start using more oil and how much oil should you use . Any ideas anyone ?

When you say old machinery do you mean really old stuff or just saws say 10 years old etc?

If its the former then maybe they were designed to run on a different type of 2 stroke than modern saws.

If its the latter then narr modern 2 stroke is good stuff and if the saw is worn a new piston and rings should sort it.
