Installing a swing

Had a great job last week, installing a swing up a rather large oak. Before the swing was installed the crown had to be lifted to enable a good path for the swing to........... well..........swing!!

Big tree, interesting job, nice climb, blue skies, GOOD TIMES!!!!!!!!!!!

 

Just thought you'd all appreciate a shot or two of a tree on a nice sunny day rather than grey and snow. Looks like we all got through a particullarly bad winter boys. Well done!!!

Yes, its for a regular client of ours, for his girlfriend's birthday

I've made a few swings. They are always for free!! Stick any costs onto the tree work side of things, if using an actual swing get the client to buy it themselves!

Know what you mean Rupe, we did this for free. He's a good client and the experience was worth having. He supplied the swing and rope all we did was figure out the attachment points to the tree (as to not harm it) and fit it.

It's good if you can have a climbing frame to launch yourself from, esp. if it's got a long drop on the rope

As promised (some time ago) here are the photos of the swing at stages of installation. We did the splices, measured up, he supplied the lump of oak. Not me climbing, one of my lads, I assumed the "foreman" position for the job.........good fun actually!!!

Client was well pleased.

looks good! must be nice to do something different for a change. i know a lad that spent one summer installing fairy lights in trees for all the festivals, and another who had a job removing rubbish that had blown into trees next to a tip.
