This was cut on the Peterson mill and put straight down. No drying planing or anything like that - made and laid by myself.

 

Never done decking before :thumbup:

Looks great mate. Will it move if it hasn't been dried? I'm keen to get into this kind of thing. Also whats lime like as timber? I have a huge one to remove (heartbreaking) and was wanting to get the butt log milled. Cheers mate.

Carvers are supposed to love lyme for there work (this is more indoor type carving rather than chainsaw carving) but trying to find them to buy the stuff is tricky....

 

Before you get it milled see if you can get in touch with them. Last one I had wanted it in 4" slabs with as little knots and markings in it as possible.

 

It's still a good timber for indoor furniture and what have you. Quite stable and light.

 

 

But get her milled and well stickered and out of the weather and you'll find a home for it in the end.
