My current throw line setup , is a two in one.

Using the stein 1.8 mm yellow line and splicing with this stuff 26980d382e332203d6508b68a4357dd5.jpg

2 mm polypropylene line which is quite stiff.

For me it's the best of both worlds , one side strong and static for pulling ropes up and the throwing end weak enough too break if need be.

Here's some pictures for throw line splicing.

Splicing a 2 mm line into a 1.8 mm line helps if you use a fid of some kind7d6e096a2ec31dc291d258f773d8ba4f.jpg

I didn't like using the yellow stein throw line , for the first few weeks it was brilliant until the coating wore off .

So i thought the two in one would be good solution and I'm quite satisfied.

Having said that , i've been told everyone buys the pink stein throw line.

But still , i like being able to break the stuff if need be.
