any problems using motor oil/veg oil on your chains? Just thinking about temperature and viscosity. Isn't veg oil too runny? Dose it stick to the chain well? Cheap engine oil has been working for me great, prob not as good as branded proper oil, but its cheap.

veg oil goes lumpy in the winter when its cold, also makes you want food because it smells like chips cooking:laugh1:

motor oil does not have anti fling,so you would prob go through it very quick:sneaky2:

on a bright day you can see oil vapour when you rev up a saw, if you stick your bar close to an object you can see what comes off it .... chainsaws are a relativley new invention if i think off all the old woods man in there 70's 80's who should have gone on for a lot longer considering how fit they were, i cant help but think saw emissions and bar oil vapour have had some thing to do with it...........
