Rather large Horse Chestnut

sorry no pics, it was years ago, my mobile phone at the time had an arial that wouldnt of looked out of place on a house:biggrin:, i hope i wasnt sounding like i was saying 'my tree is bigger than your tree'. It was in Sterling, i also had to fell about a thousand conifer that were in pots. they were left overs fron the Glasgow Garden Party, and they had been shoved in a field and grew out the pots, they were about 30 feet high and 6 inches in diameter:biggrin:

good shout forge valley not far from east ayton, its about 30yard from seavegate road. where abouts you bases then?

 

Thought I recognised it.

 

Theres a massive beech tree near it too, riddled with gano and a few others right by the roadside. :001_tongue:

 

I'm near Driffield, but I used to go shooting up that way a few years back.

no not at all i'm just fascinated with big trees and would of liked to have seen pics and im guessing it wasn't far off the size of a house either haha. conifer job soounded fun haha

yeah were abouts? favourite tree beech and i like a good bit of fungi. its not further uproad on the right is it? managed to get that chesnut on ancient tree forum nobody had put it on before and when i put in the DBH in it questioned it as "are you sure this is not normal for this species" haha.

 

thats over staxton hill isn't it? you busy?
