Got to admit, when the GreenMech trucks broke down, I dont know who the fleet policy was with but they didn't impress. I vowed to lie to them if I broke down again. Single bloke goes to the back of the queue every time. I blew an engine and said that the engine was sized, do not send a man in the van, just send the recovery truck and two hours later, guess what? Man in a van arrives to diagnose a siezed engine and truck needed! Get home 9 hours later.

Next time, "dont send a van unless he has an intercooler, van turns up at 3 hours and diagnosed a bust intercooler, recovery truck needed. Got home 12 hours later.

Next time, "dont send a van unless he has a new engine, recovery truck arrives and takes me 3 miles to services where I wait. Getting home nearly 10 hours later!

Next time, "engine overheat, limp home mode", recovery truck turns up and no tools, left at services for 6 hours, got home 5 later!

Next time, "flat tyre and spare not removable (bust mechanism)",  6 hour wait......plugged the hole, told me not to go further than 50 miles in a 110 mile trip and not faster than 40pmh.....

Not much faith in any of them,

Sore subject for me. Always had breakdown cover through my bank. Pay £15 a month for a reward account that gives me breakdown cover, travel insurance amongst other things. I’ve used it a few times in the past, but the most recent episode my truck required recovery and it turned out my cover only allowed for recovery within 15 miles of home…I was significantly out of that and had to pay £180 roadside to upgrade it cover 🙄
