Summer limb drop .  Prolonged period of hot weather , rain on Friday evening and then another hot day on Saturday with calm conditions when it fell. Cedar looked in bad shape also

Similar happened at Kew gardens back in 2012 with a fatality of woman in 30s

The death of a woman who was fatally injured when a large branch fell on her at Kew Gardens, south-west London, was an accident, an inquest jury finds.

This youtube clip shows how it might be impossible to identify from inspection.

Was that the incident where a poplar chucked a limb? These incidents seem to happen more and more

Jeremy knows his stuff alright, but was also very annoyed that the Duke of Wellington cedar at Kingston Lacy was removed.

You can’t have it both ways.
