That's the interpretation of the written law, though the law makers update the laws as necessary if case law does not do as they want (which is the fault of the law makers for not describing the law properly first time round of if society changes). The judges aren't making the laws and if they aren't fit for purpose they can repeal them either.

No; quite wrong.  Refer to

EN.WIKIPEDIA.ORG

Common law is a vast and ever increasing body of law that is also referred to as "judge-made law".

Yeap, SP just reinforced our reasons for never wanting back into Europe.

Oh the law can be changed, really just really!.

Our laws maybe, not one deliberated by 20+ other countries all thinking let's screw zee British.

We're the only daft sods that literally follow it to the letter because of people like SP and his civil service ilk, everyone else just does the French shrug shoulders and says no.

Not being funny, but what does Wales really produce? It's got no industry...

Noteworthily for tree people, carabiners, pulleys etc (DMM and ISC). But broadly speaking yes. Wales is basically the junk drawer of the UK.

It did have a pretty decent electronics and military industry in the early 2000s

Plus refurbs commercial airliners, part owned by the guy from Iron maiden.

I believe you will qualify for a discount on a first class Scott Rail ticket to somewhere you will fit in well, I think Sturgeon is there right now still arguing “ a trans woman is a woman “ about the double rapist with the facial tattoos.

The elected officials make the laws.

The civil service write it (and to an extent the party managements whip it). The celebrities only really talk about it on the TV.

Also bear in mind how much secondary legislation goes through without ever being looked at. There might be some to and fro on a piece of primary legislation (UK Public General Acts) but ten times as much secondary (Statutory Instruments, regulations) goes through just by being put in a box for two weeks.

2024:
25 UK Public General Acts

1361 Statutory Instruments

Fifty-four times as many then.
