Is anyone able to tell me where they have hidden the grease nipples for the 3 uj’s on the roller shafts. I spent maybe half and hour feeling round with my fingers trying to find them. I would expect them to either be in the centre of the UJ or between 2 of the yokes. Ended up giving up after loosing the feeling in my hands.
cheers all

The shafts that go from the common gearbox to the roller. They are on the top of the UJ. You need a 90 degree grease connector most of the time as the chances of the shaft stopping with the nipple accessable from the top of side are small.

Where do you mean by the top of the UJ? On the flat faces?

On my A540 turntable model there is a large inspection plate behind the roller shafts I take off. i can then see the shafts with the flywheel cover and engine covers still in place. I turn the roller speed down to minimum then run it until the nipples are where I want them.

Thanks all. I think my grease nipple is missing. There just a hole on the large flat face. Best get some grease nipples ordered.
I’ll have a look and see if I have an inspection cover there. Thanks all
