Quick question everybody bit of a random one could you use an impact drill to remove blades? I have always used a ratchet set it’s starting to become a pain but didn’t want to use a impact drill before getting advice don’t want to damage anything many thanks

Can you - yes.

Should you - probably not 

 

I cant see why undoing them at that the low torque they are at would hurt with an impact. Doing them up with an impact is a big no no.

No.

Those torq heads are a real twat for stripping at the best of times.

 

They are always full of crud.

Any time really cleaning them out thoroughly (a dental pick is best) is time well spent.

Make sure the bit is really well seated.

Once you’ve cracked them it’s not exactly a big job to wind them out with a ratchet.

 

If you strip them it’s a real f-on.

I ve undone the ones on my 150 since I bought an impact wrench, you haven't got to jam flywheel to remove them. But you need to clean them out well.

A cordless ratchet is a great tool, they dont have the hammer or power of an impact wrench so are not going to strip any heads. Great when theres bad access to a bolt.

 

If the heads are covered in shite, you need to clean that, whatever tool your using.
