Good habitat/"bug hotel" trees though, all thoose fashionable   veteran features on young trees,  ideal for bat roosts etc.

Alot of healthy top growth atm even with all the rot & they have  already survived at least 3  loppings.

Carry on re-pollarding  &  they may either go on  for many more  decades ....or they could just die....hard to guess at...

They would need to be redone now & then repeated every 10yrs though as the tops will probaby blow out if they get to tall...

Downside is the ongoing expense so its  easier  & more sensible just to get rid.

keep them.

theyre still upright so can be saved.

reduce the uprights to roughly the height of the main trunk.

gonna look like shit but will encourage more bird life.

but get a decent arborist to do it, not a gypo.

You could get Stevie Wonder to do it, the result will be pretty much the same.

Bomb them from space, they're ****************ed.  Make a buggery out of the logs if you must, but silver birch is a pioneer tree and hasn't evolved to live for ever.
