I've been googling pretty hard and found lots of chatter on various forums, but I can't find any pictures of an eppel.

Anyone have any to share?

I think they are kind of irrelevant now mate as you can’t buy them , I got mine from Germany sold by freworker years back I think around 2014 when I was doing a lot of deadwooding of big trees for nation parks and trust… Basically it’s a hook with elastic that has a wooden ball that you can slot in the other side so the hook doesn’t get caught when not being used.

these are only photos I can find on the phone.

I stand corrected, I tried to get another one last year and could not find them anywhere!

well it says zero in stock and 25-30 days backorder, maybe Epple has already sold enough hooks to retire and sail off into the sun!

Ah, just to see how the technology has evolved. The closed gate via wooden ball sounds kinda janky, to be honest.

I thought it was pretty good to be fair , did what it was supposed too every time I use it.
I would take it over the dmm any day, until this came out any way.
