Dimplex DC700 Cassette Wood Burner - rope/gasket sourcing

I have a Dimplex DC700 Cassette Wood Burner which needs the door rope/gasket replacing. Unfortunately the original part used by Dimplex was not standard. That would have been too easy. Dimplex have now advised the part is no longer available rendering the wood burner as not able to be used. The rope gasket comprises a flat section which sits underneath a metal cover that surrounds the door perimeter. There is also a round section which protrudes out and forms the gasket seal. I have attached pictures. It looks as if I need to find a replacement solution that will work instead so any ideas from the experts here would be very much appreciated.

Looks like exhaust pipe wrapping tape with a fairly standard door seal folded into it 🤔

That is interesting, I was thinking it was tubular with some stuffing from the picture.

Anyway it looks eminently doable with that tape and some ordinary door seal rope to add a bit of "give".

Personally I'd rip it out and upgrade to something that's doesn't look like Meccano set design.

How old is it out of interest, sure there's a 5 year rule on new things for parts availablity.
