T540xp Will not rev

T540xp has been recently rebuilt, starts good, does idle but idles better on its side (sometimes dies when straight up) New carb. When throttle is applied it will not spin the chain and bogs down until it dies. Seems to dump fuel. Any help will be appreciated in locating the source of this problem

The change in attitude affecting the idle can indicate an air leak . as a hose is pulled slightly it opens up a small split . Could be the impulse hose or a fuel line . Could also be the crank seals but maybe not if its just been rebuilt .

Did you install the carb yourself as it needs connecting to the husky computer to install firmware?

I have, I will have to look into husky dealers who can install the firmware

I've installed a new carb on a 545 and swapped the autotunes that seemed to work, I could give that a try and see if I get anywhere

How much will I be looking at spending if I have to get firmware installed?

Around £15-20, maybe. You need the serial number from the coil to match it to the carb.

That is why we dont sell autotune carbs online. The dealer you bought it from deserves a bit of a slap but looking online there are loads of people selling autotune carbs with no info that they wont work properly without a dealers bit of help.
