Just got hold of a new Husqvarna. 560 mk11.  Started okay but primer bulb didn't fill with fuel and it's run without it filling with fuel. Is this some new fandangled primer bulb or is it about to bite me on the arse?

I don't think it will bite you in the arse . To date I have never seen one leave the saw . ADW will sort you out @adw

The purge bulb, and it’s function has not changed from the mk 1, the bulb should 3/4 fill, if not the pipe is either trapped, or the non return valve in the carb is blocked for some reason, this will make the saw harder to start, I assume it does run ok? however this is not correct and should go back to where it came from, if it is not running well stop using it now as it could have other issues in the carb, fuel filter, or fuel hose will may lean the mixture and cause it to seize.

Ive seen this on a few husky machines while carrying out a pdi. Usually it sorts itself out if you leave it for a day or so with fuel in the tank and pull it over a million or so times. I dont know what the problem is, collapsed fuel pipe or something sticking in the carb.
