Hi Guys n Girls!!!

I'm in a bit of a predicament and would like some opinions!!!

My Swedish Boss (who has been climbing 20 years) today said 'Vicki...your spikes are ****! You need to take off the profile.' (as in have them as pointy and sharp as possible)

When I asked the other British Climbers their opinion, the general reply was 'Are you mad, don't take off the profile...you'll kill yourself!!'

So....What should a girl do??!

All opinions much appreciated!!

:confused1:

just get new gaffs, simples. I have sharpened spikes once, didnt really make much diference, by the time the gaffs are worn then so are the pads, and if you have been living in them for a while and they have earnt you good money, then i usually treat myself to a new pair, i am on my 4th pair in 12 years, and new ones are always better. Like my Alloy Geckos, real comfort and sharpitty sharp.:thumbup1:

thats what i used the one and only time i did it lol

I still use mine for the rakers on the saw chains . They last a lot longer than the standard chain saw flat file ?

On the shaft on my Klien climbers Ive got some pipe insulation ? I can where them all day no probs .

Ok, Thanks for the replies Guys.....an hour with the flat file and they all sharp and pointy but the lack of profile/angle concerns me! Lol! Oh well, I'll find out tomorrow!

Still using my first spikes...had them twelve years only changed the gaffs a couple of times, pads a few and the steel frame once or twice.
