Echo CS-4310X

Recommended Posts

Looking for a new saw and came across this Echo saw. Does anyone know if it is 'computery' like a 550xp ? I like stuff I can fix myself so would prefer carb with adjuster screws, but is that even available any more ?

If anyone has any feedback otherwise on this model, that would also be great to hear

Thanks

Tim

I know that they probably will be reliable with the electronics, but I just prefer to have something that I can fix myself without the electronics. I have read a few reviews and the Echo saws are simple 'old fashioned' style with a carb and manual adjusters. I think that I will give one a go. I will report back on what it is like once I have it

Thanks

Tim

With the greatest of respect there should be no need to keep adjusting carb screws, having to adjust the mixture is very often masking engine issues, auto tune is very reliable, it will keep the saw running at peak performance without the need to fiddle with adjuster screws, one of the main reasons I see is users ordering new auto tune carbs from dealers then find they do not run as they only have boot firmware on them, then they need to be connected to the service program.

Sounds like:

1) Manual carb is fine as it shouldn’t need tweaking anyway.

2) Auto tune keeps saw running at ‘peak performance’ potentially masking engine issues.

3) Replacement Auto tune is useless as it won’t do anything until I have crossed the palm of ‘the service program’ with silver.

Possibly a pretty compelling argument for staying manual.
