interesting

getting the right lubricant is important too

for me, i've found the best is TFR, and mixed right too

personally, i've found pine sol and screen wash crap, but different things work for different people 👍

Why don’t you sharpen yourself? I’d vote for ripper 37.

I bought maybe thirty blades cause I was going down the same route as you. Then I pulled my finger out my arse🤣 and set up the Baltic abrasives CBN wheel in an Oregon chainsaw grinder. Perfect result the first time I used it.

Arctic grade screen wash is a different breed- I really rate it even for nasty stuff like spruce.

Gettin reet fed up with blade resharpening services. Thinking of just buying new every time. Woodmizer offer Norwood Blades, Ripper 37 is another, some on ebay...

Any recommendations please?

And many thanks

I think a lot depends on how much milling you do.  If you do it only occasionally the easiest solution might be just to throw the blades away when blunt.  Getting blades properly sharpened is a challenge.

I’ll pay the postage and he can send the ripper 37s to me!!! Sharpening them is a piece of cake. Setup cost around £400.

Have you considered offering a sharpening service?   Very few places currently do this properly, especially now Stephen Cull has retired.  I guess you would have to clean and set them also.

Doing it large scale for others you would want an automatic setup like the one Stephen sold to the new guy.
