Evening, any CCTV buffs on here? I’m  running 5 Hikvision ColorVU 5mp cameras, and trying to set perimeter alerts on 2 of these, but apparently my dvr isn’t fast/capable enough (when I google the error message). Anyone recommend a Hikvision dvr that’s suitable? Don’t want to just guess at one and end up in the same situation.

Thanks 👌🏻

Are they old school BNC or IP POE.

With 5 cameras at 5MP you're probably best looking for a dual HDD model for a decent amount of storage.

Mines 4 camera with 4Tb, get a good 3 months recording.

Not a clue I'm afraid, I do use the event function which sounds similar.

On mine you just mask on/off the areas you expect movement. Like the top of a fence or gateways, allows me to ignore things like foliage movement in the wind.
