Leguan Mewp

Recommended Posts

Hello all.

Does anyone own a Leguan 19m mewp or have regular experience with them?

I have plenty of experience with Hinowas and other machines but not used a leguan yet.

im interested in people’s experience with them particularly if you own one.

 Thanks in advance 🌳👍

I have just recieved a quote for one.

93k euros plus tva (vat) with tracks, 3 speeds and large pads for feet.

9500 for a dedicated trailer.

5600 for radio control though I don't know how usefull that is.

A lad i know is selling a 1 year old CELA DT25 complete with trailer and radio package for a decent price. Bigger spec than the leguan at 25m upreach and 12m outreach. Narrows down to 800mm for access.

Could be a deal to be had if you're willing to drag it over the channel.

I’d be interested in details if no good for Ty please.

Thank you, I appreciate the thought.

I had a look at the spec just now.

Being so new I think the customs charges might largely offset any gain in buying used.

(Not made in the U.K so subject to probably 10% or more customs + transport fees)

Also, it is one thing bringing over a 12k chipper then suffering a myriad of irritating defects but quite another to throw a significantly larger sum at almost new kit without the reassurance of technical backup and warranty.

I'll not be able to just go out and buy another if it goes properly wrong.

The last thing I'd want to then do is air my grief on Arbtalk and suffer the back lash...

So we are looking at new or nearly new closer to home.

This is driven by the desire to reduce our dependancy on capricious, often unreliable subby climbers whilst keeping me 'in the game' for along as possible without ruining my body.
