Done that for years trying to wynd down a bit but still work bloody hard so no shortage of people that want me just the rates are crap but thanks for your detailed input on the subject.

if there’s no shortage of people wanting you, up your rates!

people want you because you’re either cheap and good, or cheap and bearable/average.

True, if you’re the latter and up your rates you’ll be unemployed

if you’re good, you’ll still be needed

You’re pretty much bang on the money. Not to mention kit needs updated/ replaced. The job is dangerous and surly this must also be taken into account. Finally a productive comment. Also chains and kit is rocketing in price.

thanks

I never got into tree work for money, I like trees, I like the job, I like saws, I like the danger.

So you think you should be paid more because you chose a career with risk, but bet your earning more than a squaddie.

How much do you think you should be earning per day?

Ex para my self mate served my time and was payed dog shit wages. But at least there was perks. Enjoy the job but not working for next to nothing for some greedy bugger wanting all my kit and experience so they can pay pennies more than someone on the books. I think a subcontractor supplying kit and experience should be on £300 a day. Shock horror from you?? Look at building sites my mate 4 and a half days a week brick layer with a £10 trowel £80,000 a year so ye I think we’re over worked and under paid
