Orbital sander work fine?

Not unless you very patient/determined 😂

I'd hire a decent belt sander 👍

But a bit like arb if it's your first rodeo I'd recommend getting a lad who's done it before to do it as one wrong move with a big belt on low grit will cause tears ...

I have the same Oak flooring, it was given to me as flood damaged ..anyway,I have used about 60 square meters of the stuff in various projects over the last few years and have always found it a bastard to sand back to wood ,sand paper discs gets clogged up easily and its time consuming and expensive...I found the best most quickest and cheapest way is to use a Flap disc on an angle grinder ..it will be a rough job but its worth it as its hassle free and cheap as 1 disc does the lot.

Budget like everything plays a part. Best way to do that if you can seal the room with open windows is to sand blast it.                                                                                                                                                          I have done many floors/beams  with this method but i always use sharp paving sand its cheap as chips and can be reused many times.

We use a different gun to most just take your time and go quiet it will be fine

Just to add you will need a good compressor 100+ litre or a 3HP motor
