Paddle or Push switch grinder for sanding?

My trusty cheap Macallister 115mm has finally died today and been looking immediately for another Grinder, as i use them a lot.

My question is what is better to use when sanding carvings, my last one was a push switch, but some people say paddle would be better but im unsure, as i was happy with the toggle switch for sanding, I do have a bigger grinder which i use for other things like cutting metal, which is more suited to a paddle switch imo.

 

Any recommendations? i want it corded, and under £80 ideally, 115mm or 125mm? i usually use 115mm but if 125mm is better i dont mind.

I have a paddle switch Milwaukee and it suits me . Its just personal preference I think .

Always had push switches on smaller angle grinders, used to be that just the way they were.

 

Recently bought a new 40v 5in Makita and they do both on the same grinder so I was a bit stuck for which one to buy as it was something I'd never thought about before. Ended up being decided for me as Amazon warehouse had the push switch one at sixty odd quid less than anywhere else so that was that.

 

Been paying heed to how I use it since I've got it though and push switch was definitely the way to go, for the smaller grinder anyway.

 

9in a different kettle of fish altogether though, always have to keep a tight grip of one of those buggers, and besides, they're so much bigger so that they suit the paddle switch design better.

On small grinder push switch is better sometimes it will help in difficult positioning! I hade worked in welding shop in my jute only push switch ,Milwaukee little trigger very annoying even after long time use, I sold it .

Cheers for the replies peeps, decided on a push switch Bosch pro. Had good reviews. And i decided to stick with a push switch, as its what im used to and a lot of you thought the same.
