According to Stihl's website, only Rapid Super chains are compatible with the MS 500i. Why no semi chisel chains?

I also had a look at Honey Brothers' chain-finder, which too doesn't list any semi chisel chains for the 500i. The only chains listed there are Stihl's RS and Oregon's EXL chains. Any advice?

 

PS: Honey Brothers does sell the following chain (STIHL 20″ RAPID MICRO 1.6MM 3/8″ 0.063 CHAIN)

Have a look at the chain specialist websites eg

Stihl RM and Oregon semi chisel available. I run it on my 461 when the woods dirty, slightly slower cutting is quicker than loads of filing.

Thanks a lot, I will have a look at their website. Would still be interesting to know why Stihl says that only one chain is compatible with this particular chainsaw. Wouldn't it be in Stihl's interest to give their customers a choice (between full and semi chisel)?

It's just what Stihl recommend. The 3652 (RM) variant or the Hexa will work quite happily
