High temp sealant. I find fire cement cracks. There should be some sort of collar on the stove you put the flue into, then fill with high temp sealant.

I just replaced the seal on the flue blanking plate and it uses a gasket sold by the manufacturer to seal it or the flue. The gasket is some sort of glass fibre material so it might be worth checking the instructions for your stove.

Unless you have a gasket like Paul in the Woods - which sounds reasonable from a manufacturer - I'd use a high temperature sealant rather than fire cement. All about the 'right tool for the job' - sealer for sealing
