Please don’t tell me that all Log splitters in the UK require 2 handed operation.

They are all able to be bypassed, but you obviously leave yourself open to problems if someone else uses it and has an accident.

When I was looking for tree surgeons being prosecuted by HSE a while ago in news archives I found incidents of one hand splitter operation. If you're at home, there is no control but at work if someone does have an accident with modified safety features expect the proverbial book to be thrown.

 

My vertical splitter is the type with ram below table pulling down, two hand to split but no hands for return as nothing above to trap against. I keep it like this, as soon as the log's split you let go and sort the bits out, largely solves the productivity problem and I know I have all my fingers at the end of the day.

I guess this wouldn't have happened if I left my kentic splitter as 2 handed 

But it was a good enough reason to buy a processor 😁

You will be able to modify any log splitter into single handed if you wish.

I've even seen some that are foot operated, but that's probably taking it a bit too far!

Very sensible that is , since they ud need to be foot operated, for when ye chop yer hands off like!

I think it’s a smart move. I would certainly consider that to be a primary ‘feature’.
Will check out Krpan splitters.

Ouch! 😳. Can't see the advantage of modifying a kinetic for one handed operation. Vertical hydraulic, one handed is obligatory as you need to be moving the log around on the deck. Any type of horizontal splitter I can't reposition one handed anyway. I'd never go for a horizontal anything after using vertical.

saved having to physically move to the back of the machine, u stand in 1 place and smash through logs

happened when i was splitting some nasty dry oak for my cousin - typical!
