Working away accommodation

Motorhome or caravan, there are plenty of 5 van sites around the country from as little as £10-£15/night. Have breakfast before I leave and usually go out for a meal at night, pocket the rest of the digs money. Doesn’t always pan out if receipts are needed by the company I’m working for, but most aren’t bothered.

A few caravans in the forest near me at the moment - sociably spaced about half mile apart.

One job I had long term we booked a static caravan on a site, get sick of hotel meals every day of the week, pocketed the change (we had a basic uplift to salary, sort accommodation yourself job), nearer the end of that job was in a hotel week to week (rather than a commitment on the caravan) - weird Saturday mornings being the4 only guest and letting the staff in to make my breakfast/

Always found using campsites best.

Showers and cooking areas are a must . decent tent and a couple of duvets.

Kept the over spill of money to boost wages up from accomodation allowance.

Once you get used to the military regime and buy a decent tent it is fine.

I have slept in tent on-site but only for a few days as shower is a must for avoiding the "tree cutters trouser scratch."

I Think roaming around cuting tree is a good thing but definitely for the youngsters.doubt I would go out of area for work anymore unless it was in the.mountains somewhere amazing.
