Yes, fitted a new fuel pump tonight and it seems to have solved the issue 😇. Started and stopped it a dozen or so times and so far so good.

Was the fuel filter the correct Briggs one for EFI? It is a fine gauze filter designed to protect the main fuel pump, you don't want to be using a universal in line fuel filter.

Surprised it was the inline fuel pump, as Jase says this is the low pressure pump. Designed to bring the fuel from the tank to the engine & the high pressure fuel pump where the EFI circuit starts.

Fingers crossed she keeps on running :)

Hi, honestly didn’t know there were 2 pumps. It’s the one just above the fuel filter. Cost was £114. Looks like this. And yes I have old one still

I thought that was a generic part.

I see them for as little as 20euros on the web.

I suspect changing this pump and the engine running right might just be a

 co-incidence.

Keep us posted anyway.

Unfortunately for me your assumption was correct, it seemed ok for a couple of days but then went back to being a pain in the arse!!! However, since then I’ve bitten the bullet and fitted a new fuel pump/module, seemed ok yesterday then boom…..back to not starting when warm. Strange thing is though, if I pull the fuel line off the top of the fuel filter for a split second and then push back on, it fires up no problem. I’m well confused and a little poorer than I was last week. Sounds stupid but I just don’t have the time to take and leave it at a dealership.

Thanks for getting back and reposting even though it is not good news.

GA Groundcare is worth approaching as they have a positive reputation and recently become certified to work on the Efi Vanguard's.

Keep us informed and good luck.

Shaun , Google your nearest Briggs EFI dealer and contact them , testing shouldn't take long and if it happens to require a new high pressure pump , it's a simple enough job to replace it..

Jase.

Hi Jase, I’ve already replaced the pump.
