I found the same issue while trying to pdi a 435 that just wouldn't run properly. I found no mention of a new tool so I gave up and it's sitting on the workbench gathering dust :D

Same problem - I have a brand new 435 and used it on a small job last week.  Run very poorly - cutting out, not ticking over properly and sometimes reluctant to rev.  If I can`t sort a tool I will return to supplier and let them sort it.   Cheers

Thats the same issue I had. Most machines do the above straight out of the box but usually once they have had a few revs and a bit of fuel through the carb they run OK but you do get more than the the odd machine that needs a bit of tuning.

If you use the over size tool with a small circle of plastic builders bag or a wee bit of t shirt to take up the space you might get enough friction to get it to work... not ideal, but I have done this.

Once removed the L & H screws can be given a tiny 1/2mm  slot using a Dremel avoiding the problem every time you need to adjust, I've done this many times on cheaper Chinky machines that weren't under warranty.

They're always going to need tuned after a bit of running from new and occasionally from time to time.

Yes run it for about 1 hour off and on but not brilliant.  I had my old 435 MK1 to hand and finished the job with that.  I`ve contacted a couple of dealers inc L&S who have replied  -

"Thank you for your email. I can confirm this is the same one for your chainsaw. I have included the parts diagram & workshop manual for you.

I have ordered this one as my current tool is part of a set from Amazon or Ebay so I have no part number.  I did stress that the tool for the Mk1 did not fit.  I will update when it arrives.  Thanks Paul

I have a similar 6 piece set which fits EVERYTHING except the MK2 435.  We have various brands of equipment and my little set fits them all.  Cheers
