Acacia dealbata/Mimosa health check

Hi there

Hoping I could get some advice on my Mimosa tree. 

 

We've had a particularly cold winter here in the UK, with extended periods well below zero.

 

I know these aren't the hardiest of trees and should ideally have been given some sort of coverage during the worst of it. I'm afraid it's too late for that now, but would be grateful if anyone can tell me if it is dead/ alive/ salvageable. 

 

The greenery is very much brown and the trunk is starting to show some cracks. 

 

I don't know if it's OK and waiting to brighten up in the spring, needing some care or dead already. 

 

Grateful for any knowledge you can share.

Looks like it’s in a raised bed, not looking good try to scratch the bark with your thumb nail keep trying down the trunk till you get to the soil if it’s green underneath you may have a chance, but in my view it’s showing advanced stage terminal necrosis

Saw a few in flower yesterday , so does not look hopefull ..

It's in the ground (there's just a planter in the background).

 

I'll give it a scratch tomorrow to see if there's any hope.

Not looking good. Potentially could have been fine in a more sheltered spot to be fair. Have had similar this year with younger ones. Whereas one is a protected bed is looking good. So probably an unfortunate.
